Went to watch Charlie and the Chocolate Factory today! Yipee!!

Johnny Depp is just an amazing actor. Everytime I watch his films, it just becomes an affirmation of his gift as a true thespian.. Haha, you would think that his role as Willy Wonka is his breakthrough performance of all time.. Right, he deserves to win the Oscars this time round.. *im rolling my eyes here* Now, seriously, this statement comes biased coz Depp is a character actor, so he gets to exercise his acting skills. When was the last time he made a "normal" character? Oh yeah, Finding Neverland. All the rest were ..characters. Capt Jack Sparrow of Pirates of the Carribean, Edward Scissorhands, Don Juan deMarco.. Someday, like director Ridley Scott, I hope he gets his first Oscar. He's been touted the "Best Actor" of his generation (where Al Pacino and Robert De Niro were in theirs) and yet, he's been overly nominated he should get a special award already. Well, maybe he's so above the Oscars.

For me, the true thespian becomes the character. When the actor plays the role, he is no longer the actor. He is the character. I have three names for u: Johnny Depp, Russel Crowe and Jack Nicholson. Whenever u watch their films, they cease to be Hollywood actors. They're Capt. Jack Sparrow(Pirates), Maximus Aurelius(Gladiator) and Melvin Udall(As Good As It Gets, thanks Leng!). And you can never think of the character without thinking of them. There can never be anyone else who can do the role justice. That's why I get to thinking perhaps, Daniel Radcliffe is getting to be a real actor.. coz to me, he's just Harry Potter. :D Can't imagine Haley Joel Osment in the role (he wanted the job). Well, tell me which actors make the cut for u..

Oh yeah the film.. was colorful, imaginative, creative.Heck,if I had kids, I'd let them see this one.. except I'd have to let them distinguish between Depp's Wonka and Michael Jackson.. hehe U have to be broadminded, you know. I can't decide whether I like the oompa loompas; if u do watch it, tell me if u are more annoyed or more entertained by them. ;p All in all, I give it 7 out of 10 for sheer entertainment and creativity. Tim Burton is at it again! Now I wanna watch his "Corpse Bride" due September (with Depp still), The Skeleton Key and The March of the Penguins. I lurrrve penguins..

Ahh.. today was a good day. No, a great day. You know why? Today was payday! :D Let's just say I'm liking what I'm getting especially since, from the looks of things, I'm earning the same amount of money in three days, what I would have gotten in my old job in the Philippines for a month! Which takes me to this: have I finally been warped? Have I finally succumbed to the charms of the American Dream? The answer is quite simple: Nope.

I am here in Minnesota because as of the moment, I have no non-consequential choice but to be here. And I cannot leave because I have no ticket to get home. Hence, I took my first job as cashier to earn enough money to save up for a roundtrip ticket. I quit that place 2 weeks ago, now I got a new job. Longer hours, work's easier,pays better. I get the better end of the deal. I'm only doing what I have to do. And neither have I been blinded by money, although, shame on me, I really AM happy that I'm getting so much. But realistically, people need this to get by. Anyone who says otherwise is painfully idealistic or is just plain warped. I have a future to take care of. That's precisely what I'm doing this for. I mean, if I'm gonna have to stay here, might as well make the most out of my stay, right? or maybe I'm just consoling myself...

We went to Crystal Frolics today. That's a.. erm, perya, in Pinoy terms.. There were rides, food, games, stuffed toys, a band.. FUN! But we didn't do anything but get our pictures taken

and buy snow cones.. hehe

The Madness begins... There comes a moment in a person's life where sanity just abandons the bearer and leaves a void that may never be filled again. A black hole. An abyss that sucks the marrow out of one's life. There is no choice but to surrender to the helpless arrest of confusion. The parallel universe beckons. And there, one claims true freedom. Everything is unhinged and no screw is on place; but at one point, it is in the most illogical moments that one sees things with the clarity of crystalline imagination. Madness isn't madness at all. In fact, it makes the most sense.

if not paradoxic
