Rational Madness

The Madness begins... There comes a moment in a person's life where sanity just abandons the bearer and leaves a void that may never be filled again. A black hole. An abyss that sucks the marrow out of one's life. There is no choice but to surrender to the helpless arrest of confusion. The parallel universe beckons. And there, one claims true freedom. Everything is unhinged and no screw is on place; but at one point, it is in the most illogical moments that one sees things with the clarity of crystalline imagination. Madness isn't madness at all. In fact, it makes the most sense.

stares at the ceiling
of sapphires on lapis lazuli
above
the moonlight crystal
gloats at her shattered ego
she
blinks the pain away
the stars blink back,
to mock
and shoot her with daggers
as if the pain may get any worse.
ironic
if not paradoxic
the truth keeps opening the wound
bleeding
intoxicates her soul
and feeds her guilt
tonight
with the sky as the witness
the madness erupts.
