I've been looking for many things in my life, some trivial, some life-changing, some.. just plain material. Well, to each his own, right?

So, for years I have been looking for these two things that fall in the latter category. They would make me happy and the search has been quite a challenge, and for years, quite futile. But now! Eureka! After a looong and seemingly fruitless search, I have struck gold. Twice.

First: The Usual Suspects. This film is 10 years old, and one of the best whodunnits ever told. With a powerhouse cast, (well powerhouse to the film buff.. but if u can't relate I'm sure u'v seen these actors somewhere), a beautiful, well-crafted story and a beautiful,young director to boot, this couldn't go wrong! Heck, it won 2 oscars for pete's sakes. I've seen this some five,six years previously but I have never found it since. And now! and now! I finally found it at Hollywood video. I rented it! It is still magnificent! The catch? The damn DVD is scratched! And worse, we didn't see the ending! Jeez. Some good things never last.

Second: Master of Murder. Christopher Pike's closest thing to an autobiography. IT's not but it almost was. I have all of CHristopher Pike's YA books, save for five. And this one is sooo elusive. I have gone to every National Bookstore I could find to look for this, but to no avail. At last! Another Eureka moment! At a used books store called The Book Hive, I finally found what I've been looking for! Nondescript, dog-eared but still very much whole.. The Master of Murder. The catch: I have no time to READ the friggin' book!!! Sigh.

Sometimes life gives you bread--and butter to boot. Thing is, life's a prankster and when u taste ur sandwich, it just doesn't taste quite right. But thank God for the bread anyways..
